Virgin Australia enters into codeshare partnership with Singapore Airlines on UK, Europe flights
Virgin Australia is aiming to expand its network out of Adelaide and plans to begin flights to UK and Europe.
Virgin Australia recently announced codeshare partnership with Singapore Airlines. The airline in a statement said that Virgin Australia flights will now be operated to destinations in UK and Europe in association with Singapore Airlines.
John Borghetti, Managing Director of Virgin Australia, said that the recent codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines will enable the airline to also operate flights to Europe and UK out of Adelaide.
He also said that customers booking Virgin Australia flights tickets will also be able to accrue frequent flyer points on Singapore Airlines flights to the UK and Europe.
Borghetti said that Virgin Australia is currently operating 330 flights every week to/from Adelaide, which is in fact a significant increase.
The new codeshare pact between the two carriers will also enable the travelers to earn Virgin Australia frequent flyer points to 15 European destinations.
