You can grab some cheap tickets to Beijing and be on your way to the Badaling section of the wall just a few hours after landing. You can hike along the ancient structure or sit and enjoy the view of the rolling mountains.

3. Stonehenge

Stonehenge remains a mystery to this day.

 

Not much is known about the people who constructed Stonehenge nor about the specific reasons behind the monument. Throughout history, Stonehenge has been attributed to pagan worship, witchcraft, the wizard Merlin and meteorology. Whatever the reasons ancient people had for building it, the monument is a truly awe-inspiring artifact of the ancient world. To see it, you only need to catch a cheap flight to London and rent a car for the scenic drive down to Wiltshire.
