Aeromexico to begin thrice-weekly Sacramento-Guadalajara flights

Here’s good news for workers traveling between the United States and Mexico. Aeromexico is readying to offer enhanced flight options for travel between the two countries.

Mexico’s flagship carrier Aeromexico recently announced it will start operating new flights between Sacramento and Guadalajara starting from October 1, 2013. The new thrice-weekly service is aimed at attracting workers traveling between the two nations.

Aeromexico is yet to announce the flight schedule and airfares for the new service. The new flights will be named Aeromexico Contigo.

The airline announced that it will put up dedicated call centers and provide assistance to the passengers at participating airport check-in counters, and help with filling out immigration forms and necessary help to the travelers on both sides of the border.

Aeromexico has decided to reconfigure four Boeing 737-800 aircrafts in order to accommodate the new flights. The service will also include various frequencies between Guadalajara and Chicago, Ontario, Los Angeles and Fresno.

A top Aeromexico official for North America said that there are a large number of migrant workers traveling to the U.S. from Guadalajara and nearby little towns. The new service between Sacramento and Guadalajara would be beneficial for the workers.
