Air China seasonal Beijing-Honolulu service from next January
China’s national carrier Air China has announced to start offering seasonal flights services between Beijing and Honolulu from January next year. Air China flights between the two destinations would be operated thrice weekly starting from January 14, 2014. The airline is yet to put up the flight tickets for sale.
Air China will be competing with Hawaiian Airlines on Beijing-Honolulu route aimed at aggressively attracting customers for the seasonal service. Hawaiian Airlines will end seasonal flights on the route in April next year.
Hawaiian Airlines will be operating seasonal flights on Beijing-Honolulu route thrice every week. The airline will be using an Airbus A330 aircraft, configured with 294 seats, to operate flights on the route.
Another Chinese carrier China Eastern Airlines is presently operating flights from Shanghai to Honolulu three times every week. The airline plans to increase the service to five times every week from December this year.
Air China had in July this year launched its nonstop services between Beijing Capital International Airport and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The flights are being operated four times every week on this route.
