Mobility solutions to help boost Air China’s growth

Air China has prepared an elaborate plan to set itself on a course for future success in the highly competitive global aviation industry. Air China has indicated that it is soon going to embrace the power of mobile communications as well as other leading-edge technologies.

AT&T has recently signed a Consultancy Agreement with Air China, and will help the airline develop 5-year Mobile Technology Plan aimed at further improving its operational efficiency and customer experience.

As part of a 5-year road-map for mobile communications and technology, AT&T will be conducting interviews with the executives and operational staff of Air China, while closely observing the airline’s operations at its key facilities. Based on this intensive research, AT&T would be making recommendations and evolve a framework on how mobile technologies and procedures could be best implemented for generating revenue and delivering superior customer service.
Li Qiang, CIO of Air China, said that Air China is a world-class airline which operates in highly competitive environment. The airline is always exploring ways and means on how to further improve its customer service, control costs, and offer more self-service options. He said that the services of AT&T have been hired and now an effective 5-year technology strategy in being developed that will ensure Air China to keep striving and compete with the world’s best.

China’s flagship carrier Air China is presently among the world’s largest airlines. It carried nearly 50 million passengers to 284 destinations, including 72 international cities across the world, in 2012.
