Air India launching Dubai-Visakhapatnam flights March 25
India’s national carrier Air India recently announced it will be launching daily flights between Visakhapatnam and Dubai starting from March 25, 2012.
Abhay Pathak, Air India's regional manager Gulf, West Asia and Africa, said that the services in the region have been gradually improving.
Pathak disclosed that Air India flights between Visakhapatnam and Dubai will be part of an upgraded fleet of aircraft flying to South Indian destinations, which have been converted to 177-seater from 145-seater carriers.
He also said that the Gulf region is very vibrant and is taking on Europe and the US markets.
Pathak revealed that Air India has registered a revenue growth of 25 percent, which is highly commendable in view of the present state of the aviation industry in India and around the world.
Air India has been operating in the Gulf region for decades. Currently, Air India flights tickets are available to a total of 18 Indian destinations from Dubai.
An estimated 6 million Indian workers are presently gainfully employed in the Gulf region.
