Alitalia Airlines to marginally increase international capacity from Rome

Alitalia Airlines recently indicated that will be slightly restructuring its international capacity from Rome. Media reports said that Alitalia Airlines flights are all set to see a marginal increase in their international capacity by just under one percent from Rome.

The airline also wants to cut its weekly seat capacity by around 3 percent in Rome. Apart from this, domestic routes will also be affected, facing a 5 percent reduction in their capacity. Currently, the domestic routes account for around 55 percent of the airline’s seat capacity at the airport.

Alitalia Airlines has shown a significant growth in the Brazilian market, where the airline launched its Rio de Janeiro route recently.

The airline said that it will increase its Egypt capacity, with weekly flights being raised to 14 from the existing 10.

Meanwhile, Alitalia Airlines has decided to launch its flights to Tbilisi and Riyadh from Rome in July this year. The airline had earlier planned to launch new flights to Tbilisi (Georgia) in May and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) in June. The airline is also expected to launch new service to Benghazi in Libya in the beginning of June.
