Asiana Airlines to receive its first Airbus A380 in Q2 next year

Asiana Airlines will become the proud recipient of Airbus A380 aircraft next year. Media reports recently said that the assembly of the first A380 aircraft for South Korea’s flagship carrier Asiana Airlines is currently underway at the Airbus Final Assembly Line in Toulouse, France. The reports quoted a top official of the popular aircraft maker Airbus as saying that the main sections of the aircraft arrived in recent weeks from the various manufacturing sites around Europe and are now being presently attached at the airframe assembly station.

Asiana Airlines hopes to take the delivery of its first aircraft in the second quarter of 2014. With the new aircraft, Asiana Airlines will become the twelfth operator of the Airbus A380 aircraft. The airline has placed orders for six Airbus A380 aircrafts. After taking the delivery of its first aircraft, Asiana Airlines will be operating it on its primary routes from Seoul to the United States.

Meanwhile, in another development Asiana Airlines has said that it is going to adequately train its pilots. The airline said that it would be increasing the training for its pilots to ensure safety of the passengers on board their flights. The airline has taken this decision following the crash of one of its Boeing 777 aircrafts at San Francisco International Airport. All the pilots of Asiana Airlines would be given special safety training, including an enhanced program for visual approaches and automated flight. The airline would also be strengthening its training programs for those pilots switching to a new type of aircraft.
