Austrian Airlines adding two Boeing 777 in its fleet, increase long-haul capacity
Austrian Airlines flights services to international destinations will see a major boost in few years. The airline recently announced it will buy two Boeing 777 aircrafts and include them in its fleet.
The airline in a statement said that the customers booking Austrian Airlines flights tickets can now look forward to travel to new international destinations as the airline is all set to increase its long-haul capacity.
The airline has indicated that it is planning to add one Boeing 777 aircraft to its fleet in 2014, while another Boeing 777 aircraft would be added to the airline’s fleet in 2015. The airline has also decided to increase its long-haul capacity by around 25 percent.
Jaan Albrecht, Chief Executive Officer of Austrian Airlines, said that the airline currently doesn’t have the right balance between short/medium and long-haul network, and this needs to be adjusted soon. The airline is planning to begin flights services to new destinations on the US East Coast.
