Avianca and TACA report 11.9 percent increase in passenger traffic in June

TACA and Avianca Airlines flights performed well in June this year with increase in their passenger traffic. Both the airlines recently disclosed that there was an 11.9 percent increase in the number of passengers in June 2012 as compared to the same month in 2011.

AviancaTaca Holding S.A. in a statement said that both the carriers transported about 11 million passengers in the first six months of 2012. The company said that there was a rise of 13.8 percent in the number of passengers in H1 2012 as compared to the same period in 2011.

The company revealed that the number of passengers carried by both the carriers internationally increased by 3.9 percent in June 2012 as compared to the same month last year. According to the company, both the airlines carried a total of 10,910,928 passengers on domestic as well as international routes in the first half of this year.

The company disclosed that the markets within Ecuador, Peru and Colombia witnessed a marked improvement, with an 18.6 percent increase in number of passengers.
