China Airlines confident of scoring banner profits in Q3 2012

Taiwan’s national flag carrier China Airlines recently hinted that it is quite confident of scoring banner profits in Q3 this year.

The airline hoped that China Airlines flights are going to perform remarkably in the third quarter of 2012 chiefly driven by seasonal booms.

C.J. Chang, Chairman of China Airlines, said that the third quarter of a year is a tourist season. This will help boost the airline’s earnings with good sale of China Airlines flights tickets.

Apart from China Airlines, the tourist season also helps other carriers to make great profits. Chang said that the tourist season comes as a boon for Taiwanese carriers helping to sustain with passenger revenue earned during the period for the whole year.

China Airlines said it benefited greatly from the peak tourist season. The airline reported earnings of $42.23 million (12.4 billion Taiwan Dollar) and $40.86 million (12 billion Taiwan Dollar) for July and August respectively. According to the airline, it expects to earn significant profits in the third quarter of this year.
