China Airlines expects to see its profits rebound in Q2 this year

Taiwan’s national carrier China Airlines has expressed hope that it will see its profits rebound in the second quarter of this year. The other Taiwanese carrier EVA Airways too sees similar gains in Q2 2012. Both the carriers have pinned hope driven by cheaper jet fuel prices along with a high season.

At the end of May this year the average price of aviation turbine fuel closed at $123 per barrel, which is $10 or 7.5 percent less than $133 witnessed in April. The lower jet fuel prices now have raised hopes of Taiwanese carriers, yearning to see great profits.

China Airlines flights have suffered much from a faltering market since early this year. With cheaper jet fuel prices as well as a high season, the airline hopes to see good profits out of the sale of China Airlines flights tickets in the second quarter of this year.

China Airlines tickets as well as of other Taiwanese carriers are sold 10 to 20 percent higher during the summer vacation than ordinary periods of a year. The Taiwanese carriers, including China Airlines, are seeing good profits with the sale of their tickets and money saved on lower jet fuel prices.
