China Airlines Forms New Alliance with Major Chinese Airlines
China Airlines, national flag carrier of Taiwan recently announced its liaison with three other SkyTeam members. In an effort to conquer a larger market share of the lucrative Cross-Strait aviation market area lying between Taiwan, China and Hon Kong, four Chinese aviation giants have liaison together.
China Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and China Eastern airlines; all members of SkyTeam alliance have joined in together to form a 'Greater China Connection', with an aim to streamline operations and services to benefit their flyers.
All the four airlines will club together to formulate new strategies and programs to expand traffic and FFP membership privileges. On the basis of their codeshare agreement, Greater China Connection program will enable passengers to book their outbound flights from any of the four airlines and then alter their inbound or connecting flights to any other airlines.
Under this program Frequent Fliers will be given services like priority booking, security and passport clearance, baggage handling and boarding services. Along with this they will also get access to 31 lounges managed by these four airlines in china, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
A total of 41 airports and 270 cross-Strait flights will be covered under this program, which invariable results to almost fifty percent of the total operations of these four airlines clubbed together.
