China Airlines looking to expand business opportunities in U.S.

Travelers from Taiwan can look forward to increased China Airlines flights to the United States. Apart from China Airlines, another Taiwanese carrier EVA Air as well as travel operators are gearing to tap the increased business opportunities in the U.S.

The United States Department of Homeland Security recently announced that Taiwan has also been included into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP) from November this year. The program will allow Taiwanese travelers to enjoy free-visa treatment for travel to the U.S.

According to domestic travel experts, the number of tourists from Taiwan to the United States will increase 30 to 40 percent in half a year.

Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said that after November 1 this year eligible Taiwanese passport holders would be able to travel to the U.S. for 90 days without requiring a visa.

This will help in boosting the number of Taiwanese travelers to the U.S. significantly. Last year, about 250,000 travelers from Taiwan visited the United States.
