China Airlines to launch Auckland-Sydney-Taipei flights in October

Taiwan’s national flag carrier China Airlines recently announced it will be launching its flights services between New Zealand and Taiwan in October this year.

The airline in a statement said that China Airlines flights will be launched from Auckland to Taipei via Sydney starting from October 28, 2012. The Auckland-Sydney-Taipei flights will be operated four times every week. The new service is aimed at providing Auckland daily flight connectivity with Taiwan.

China Airlines is currently operating three times weekly flights from Auckland to Taipei via Brisbane. The new Auckland-Sydney-Taipei service would be complementing the existing Auckland-Brisbane-Taipei service.

The airline will be deploying an Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured in two classes with a seating capacity of 307 passengers to operate on Auckland-Sydney-Taipei route.
 
Glenn Wedlock, General Manager of Auckland Airport, said that the starting of new flights between Taiwan and New Zealand would help strengthen the tourism and trade links between the two countries further and also create new business opportunities.
