China Airlines to lease three Boeing 737-800 aircrafts

Taiwan’s national flag carrier China Airlines has decided to lease three Boeing 737-800 aircrafts to expand its flight network.

The airline in a statement said that the Boeing 737-800 aircrafts are being leased aimed at expanding China Airlines flights network in the growing Asian market.

The airline stated that the aircrafts are to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013. The airline has already signed a seal with a firm to acquire the aircrafts.

According to China Airlines, there is currently an increasing demand for short-distance flights to neighboring Asian countries from Taiwan.
The airline said that it considers Boeing 737-800 aircrafts to be the most suitable for operating short-distance flights as they have several benefits. Some of these benefits include easy maintenance, efficient fuel consumption and medium loading capacity.

China Airlines said that once it acquires the leased aircrafts, it will have 13 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts in its fleet. The airline also said that it will be leasing 10 more Boeing 737-800 aircrafts before 2016.
