China Eastern Airlines signs codeshare pact with Kenya Airways
China Eastern Airlines recently announced it has signed a codeshare deal with Kenya Airways. Both the airlines are members of leading global airline alliance SkyTeam. The deal is aimed at offering better air connectivity to the passengers traveling to/from Shanghai and Nairobi.
The airline in a statement said that passengers booking China Eastern Airlines flights tickets would now be able to seamlessly connect to Nairobi via Bangkok on Kenya Airways-operated flights.
Similarly, the codeshare agreement will also enable passengers booking Kenya Airways flights tickets to easily connect to Shanghai Pudong via Bangkok on flights operated by China Eastern Airlines.
The codeshare pact between the two carriers would offer more travel options and convenient connection for passengers traveling to/from China and Africa. This would also significantly help Kenya Airways to expand its flight network globally.
Dr. Titus Naikuni, Group Managing Director and CEO of Kenya Airways, said that the airline is delighted in forming a close relationship with China Eastern Airlines and broaden its route network in China.
