China Southern Airlines to begin A380 service to Auckland
China Southern Airlines recently announced it will be introducing its Airbus A380 service to Auckland from December this year.
The airline in a statement said that China Southern Airlines flights to Auckland utilizing Airbus A380 aircraft follows the recent Emirates Airlines daily A380 services to Melbourne that started in October this year.
The airline has now become the third to offer A380 services into Auckland. Qantas Airways is also introducing A380 services and recently flew a demonstration flight.
China Southern Airlines said that by introducing flights services to Auckland from Guangzhou with the help of Airbus A380 aircraft it will significantly increase the capacity and earn big revenues.
The double decker super jumbo Airbus A380 aircraft is the largest commercial aircraft in the world and has a capacity to fly 525 passengers. The aircraft is configured in three classes.
Glenn Wedlock, Auckland Airport's General Manager Aeronautical and Commercial, said that New Zealand has a great tourism potential and needs to be effectively promoted in the fastest growing Chinese market.
