Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Florence is a beautiful Italian city that is bursting with history and culture. Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance and was the home of many famous artists, writers, sculptors and politicians. The city is littered with historic relics and the atmosphere here is laid back. With cheap flights to Florence becoming more accessible, more tourists visiting Italy are choosing to put Florence on their itinerary. Two airports, the Florence Airport and the Galileo Galilei Airport that is located in Pisa, serve this Italian gem. There are more budget-friendly flights to Florence offered out of Pisa and it takes a bit longer to get to the city.

The Galleria D’Accademia is also a popular site as it is the home of Michelangelo’s famed sculpture, the David. Visitors should also take advantage of the wide array of shops and boutiques that are scattered throughout the city. A trip to the San Lorenzo outdoor market is also a must to get the best deal on authentic Italian leather goods.
