Etihad Airways launches flights to Shanghai from Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways recently announced that launch of its scheduled flights to Shanghai in China from its hub in Abu Dhabi.

The airline said that Etihad flights will be initially operated five days per week to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport. Later, the airline will convert Abu Dhabi-Shanghai flights to a daily service starting from April 15, 2012.

The airline also said that it will deploy Airbus A330-300 aircrafts to operate the flights between these two cities.

James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed his happiness and said that this will be the first nonstop commercial passenger flight between Abu Dhabi and Shanghai.

Hogan also said that the launch of Abu Dhabi-Shanghai flight is aimed at bringing the capital of the UAE and the commercial and financial center of mainland China closer together. Besides, the new flight will help in creating new opportunities for government, trade, tourism and cultural exchange.
