Etihad Airways sign codeshare pact with Garuda Indonesia
UAE’s national flag carrier Etihad Airways recently announced the signing of a codeshare agreement with Indonesia’s national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.
The airline in a statement said that it would be able to put Etihad Airways flights code on Garuda Indonesia-operated services on Jakarta-Kuala and Jakarta Denpasar routes. Similarly, the codeshare pact would enable Garuda Indonesia to put its flight code on Etihad Airways-operated flights from Jakarta to 31 destinations in the Middle East, North America, Europe, Africa and Levant.
A spokesperson of Etihad Airways said that by signing codeshare agreement with the airline Garuda Indonesia would be able to include Muscat, Athens, Moscow, Paris, Manchester and London in its route network.
Garuda Indonesia while implementing its new codeshare agreement has now moved its international hub to Abu Dhabi from Dubai. The airline shifted its international hub on December 2, 2012.
Garuda Indonesia would now be operating its flights from Jakarta to Amsterdam via Abu Dhabi instead of Dubai under the new codeshare pact.
