Finnair amends economy class check-in

Finland’s flag carrier Finnair recently announced new changes to economy class check-in. Departure desk services at Helsinki Airport are being revamped and the airline is set to ask its economy class passengers to check-in for flights themselves.

Finnair is on course to making the use of automated check-in machines or the company’s websites mandatory for the passengers making Finnair flight reservations in economy class.

The airline is emphasizing that the passengers taking Finnair flights in economy class will no longer be able to check-in at airport desks.

The airline, however, said that it will continue to retain some desks for special circumstances and first class passengers.

Finnair is yet to disclose the exact date for the closure of economy class check-in desks.

The airline in a statement revealed that it plans to install more automated check-in machines at Helsinki Airport between April and June.
