Finnair identified as the safest airlines in 2012

Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre of Europe has finally unwrapped World's Safest Airlines’ list. As per JACDEC Finnair has been rated as the safest airline in the world, which is closely followed by Air New Zealand.

As per JACDEC their rating is based on their annual safety calculations. These calculations consist of all serious accidents and hull accidents that have happened over the last 30 years in context to the revenue passenger kilometers executed during the same tenure. Apart from this JACDEC also keeps in mind international safety benchmarks like USOAP country factor and IOSA Audit.

Finnair has been ranked world's safest airline several times now. Last fatal accident reported by the airlines was in the year 1963. Its OH-LCA flight had crashed near Aland Islands killing 22 passengers and all crew members.
