Finnair reports increase in September passenger traffic on European and Asian routes

Finland’s national flag carrier Finnair recently announced its traffic results for the month of September 2012 and expressed optimism over the growth on Asian and European routes.

The airline in a statement said that Finnair flights tickets bookings on various routes in Europe and Asia has shown significant sale. The airline said that it witnessed a strong growth in passenger traffic in September this year.

According to the airline, Finnair flights performed well on Asian and European routes particularly. The airline said that its traffic on both the routes increased by more than 10 percent.

Finnair further stated that the bookings on its leisure flights showed a tremendous growth by nearly 30 percent.

The airline recently said that it has embarked on cost savings measures, which are quite essential to help it remain competitive. Finnair disclosed that it is now engaging in cutting fuel consumption in its cargo planes and has started using lighter container units.
