Finnair to launch flights to Xi’an from Europe in summer 2013
Finland’s national flag carrier Finnair recently announced it would be launching its flights services to Xi’an next year. The airline in a statement said that Finnair flights to Xi’an from Europe would be launched from its hub in Helsinki in summer 2013.
Mika Vehviläinen, CEO of Finnair, said that the airline is extremely pleased and excited that Xi’an has now become its firth destination in China. The airline will be offering three flights every week starting from June 14 until the end of summer flight schedule on October 26, 2013.
This will also be the airline’s first ever direct connection between Xi’an and Europe, and is aimed at fulfilling the goal of doubling the Asian revenue by 2020.
The airline stated that the launch of the new route would open up new opportunities for Finnair and attracting even more travelers from China.
Earlier, Finnair also announced that it will be offering new flights between Helsinki and Hanoi starting from June 15, 2013 and will operate flights thrice weekly on this route.
