Alberto García Lascurain, a Mexican architect, designed the Maya Museum. It is currently housed in a magnificent white building having large windows. The exhibition halls in the museum are situated on the second floor. There are a total of three exhibition halls here. The two exhibition halls are permanent, while one exhibition hall is being used for displaying temporary exhibits. The collection of the museum is over 3500 pieces. However, only about 320 pieces are presently on display. The first hall is exclusively devoted to archaeology, while the second hall is devoted to the Mayan culture.
