Grand Cayman Islands have always exerted this strange magical attraction for travelers of all nationalities. Many a tourist has booked cheap plane ticket and come here to enjoy the clear blue waters, the immense diving opportunities, the magnificent beaches and the stunning coral reefs. If you too are planning a vacation to Grand Cayman Islands, then here is a list of things you need to know before you book cheap tickets to Grand Cayman Islands.

When to Go
One thing you will do good to remember is that this Caribbean beauty is not for the penny pinchers. These exotic islands know how to live it up and make sure that you too splurge at all that you want to. But that doesn’t mean that you cannot cut corners here and there and still end up having a magnificent time! The most-sought after travel season out here is the winters. Mostly all tourists book their flights to Grand Cayman Islands from December 15 to April 15. If you too want to be here during this time, then ensure that you get your tickets and accommodation booked much in advance, preferably a good 4-5 months at least.

Those of you who are on a leaner budget can think of booking your cheap domestic flights for the summer season. Summers in the islands are actually a grand affair; clear and calm blue water beckons sailors and snorkelers of the world! And most of the cruise companies, hotels, resorts and flight operators also tend to slash their prices by at least 20-50%, so it’s actually a win-win situation!

Getting around the Islands
Depending on where you are staying, you may have to rent a car. If you are staying in or near the Seven Mile Beach area, then you won’t really have much use of a car. But, if you have plans on going deeper inside the island, or are staying little far off from the beach area then you’ll have to use one.
Car rentals are most easily available in the islands and anyone who is over the age of 21 can rent it. For tourists, it is mandatory to get a temporary driver’s license (which can be obtained from either the rental agency or the police station). Remember that driving, here, is on the left side.

Safety Concerns
Though crime is not really that much of a problem in Grand Cayman Islands as compared to other Caribbean islands, but still the islands definitely have their own share of it, howsoever small. Avoid riding/driving alone during night, especially at the unlit roads, for assault and robbery cases have been heard of, especially along Courts Road.

For pedestrians, be extra cautious along the soft shouldered roads. Drinking and driving is dealt with very strictly here, so you should abstain from drinking alcohol if you are to drive. Besides this, burglary is a growing menace; hence keep all your important gadgets, jewelry away from everyone’s sight.
