Numerous tamale competitions and tasting extravaganzas take place throughout the 3-day festivities. The festival also features live music, kids’ activities and entertainment zone.

Apart from the Los Angeles International Tamale Festival, another Mexican event worth attending is the Mariachi Festival. This free-to-attend festival is a grand celebration of the famed mariachi folk music from Mexico taking place in November every year. The festival will be held on November 24, 2013. The day-long festival sees local mariachi groups stage splendid performances.
