Icelandair scores third spot as Europe’s best managed airline
Icelandair, the main airline of Iceland is one of the healthiest airlines in terms of financial position across Europe. It scored third place in a study recently conducted by Aviation Week. As per the study on Top-Performing Airlines (TPA) Icelandair fared well and showed positive response in its operations.
Aviation Week conducted a systematic and methodical study on airline management where Iceland’s largest carrier hit the right spot. Passengers can book Icelandair tickets and enjoy their journey on one of the top performing airlines in Europe.
Remarkable improvement in performance was noticed in a few airlines which were not performing well in the past.
The annual TPA is based on financial results of the airlines in one whole calendar year. All the airlines are judged in six categories and ranked as per their overall scores in all segments. This year a complex set of formulas was used to assess the airlines’ performance and derive at the results. Last year’s scores were also recalculated as per the new formulas.
The carrier has its headquarters at Reykjavík Airport in Reykjavík, the capital city. It serves 35 destinations across 16 countries through the world. It operates out of its main hub at Keflavík International Airport also known as the Reykjavík-Keflavík Airport.
