Jet Airways suspending New Delhi-Milan flights from Feb 1

Jet Airways flights between New Delhi and Milan would be suspended from February this year. The airline recently announced that it has decided to stop flying between New Delhi and Milan starting from February 1, 2013.

The airline in a statement said that its move to suspend flights on New Delhi-Milan route is aimed at cutting down the losses being currently faced on some long haul routes. The airline disclosed that some of its long haul routes have become non-profitable and it is therefore being forced to curtail operations on these routes.

Jet Airways stated that over the last few months it has stopped its flight operations on Johannesburg and New York (JFK) routes.

A spokesman of Jet Airways said that the airline is temporarily withdrawing its Airbus A330 daily direct flights services between New Delhi and Milan from February 1, 2013 because of the ongoing global economic slowdown, particularly the current economic crisis in the eurozone countries.
