JetBlue Airways to begin nonstop service to Trinidad next May

JetBlue Airways has announced that it is planning to launch flights to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago from Fort Lauderdale in May next year. The airline said that it will start operating its flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Piarco International Airport effective from May 1, 2014. The airline will be operating flights between Fort Lauderdale and Port of Spain once daily. The airline will deploy a 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft to operate flights on Fort Lauderdale-Port of Spain route.

JetBlue Airways also indicated that prior to launching of flights between Fort Lauderdale and Port of Spain in May; it will already start operating nonstop flights to Port of Spain from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport starting from February 24, 2014. The flights will be operated twice daily between the two destinations. The flights to Port of Spain from New York JFK and Fort Lauderdale are however subject to government approval.

Almost one-third of JetBlue Airways’ route network now comprises of Latin American and Caribbean destinations. JetBlue Airways presently serves 27 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. These destinations include Turks and Caicos (Providenciales); St. Thomas; St. Maarten; Saint Lucia; St. Croix; Puerto Rico (Aguadilla, Ponce and San Juan); Mexico (Cancun); Jamaica (Kingston and Montego Bay); Dominican Republic (La Romana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana, Santiago and Santo Domingo); Costa Rica (Liberia and San Jose); Colombia (Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena); Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman); Bermuda; Barbados; The Bahamas (Nassau); and Aruba.
