KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced the launch of its new Facebook application in the United States. The application is named “How Blue Flies Green”.
The airline in a statement said that the launch of the application is aimed at setting new standards for sustainability in the aviation industry. This interactive application would offer great social experience to the users and help them in various ways.
The airline is offering a chance to win a pair of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flights tickets for travel in the economy class to Amsterdam from one of its U.S. gateways. One random user of the new Facebook Sustainability App who fills out a registration form would be the winner.
A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines spokesman said that the airline is of the firm view that initiatives having a positive effect on the society should be implemented. Apart from launching the new Facebook Sustainability App, the airline has already taken several initiatives, including providing lighter tableware and service carts to efficiently optimize its fuel use as well as using biofuels to offering sustainable in-flight catering.
