Qantas Airways cancels flights from Los Angeles to New York

Australia’s national flag carrier Qantas Airways has been forced to cancel flights from Los Angeles to New York due to Hurricane Sandy that devastated major parts of the United States.

The airline in a statement said that Qantas Airways flights QF107 from Los Angeles to New York and QF108 from New York to Los Angeles remained cancelled on October 29 and 30.

The airline, however, said that customers who booked Qantas Airways flights tickets would be able to carry on with their travel plans on October 31 as the airline would be operating the flights as scheduled.

Another Australian carrier Virgin Australia has announced it will be operating its flight VA001 from Sydney to Los Angeles on October 30.

The airline has, however, announced that all the flights being operated by Virgin Australia from Los Angeles to New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Boston would continue to remain cancelled. The airline is hoping to resume flights to these cities from Los Angeles on November 1.
