Qantas Airways favors a second airport at Sydney

Qantas Airways recently hinted that it favors a second airport at Sydney, which is absolutely needed.  

Alan Joyce, Chief Executive of Qantas Airways, said that he wants the authorities to stop deliberating and start building a second Sydney airport.

Joyce said he wanted more Qantas flights taking to the skies and strongly supported Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese’s efforts to deliver Australia’s most populous city Sydney a second airport to cope with the expected growth in air traffic in the future.

He further said that Qantas Airways and Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese are already discussing about this, but the dialog needs to proceed and be fruitful enough.

According to Joyce, there is a great need for a second Sydney airport for the economic development of Sydney, NSW and Australia. 
Apart from Sydney, there has also been a strong push for a second airport at Canberra.

Qantas Airways recently announced the launch of Australia’s first commercial flight powered with biofuel. The flight was operated between Sydney and Adelaide with the help of Airbus A330.
