Qantas Airways to deploy new aircrafts on Melbourne-Perth route

Qantas Airways flights on its key Melbourne-Perth route will have newer aircrafts from October this year.

Qantas Airways recently announced it will be replacing its aging 254-seat Boeing 767 aircrafts with newer 235-seat Airbus A330 aircrafts on its most important Melbourne-Perth route.

The airline in a statement said that it is taking this step to effectively ward off the challenge posed by its rival Virgin Australia.

The airline stated that the new Airbus A330 aircrafts on this route will be more luxurious and spacious. The aircrafts will be equipped with flat beds in its business class cabins.
 
The airline has decided to replace its aging 254-seat Boeing 767 aircrafts with the new 235-seat Airbus A330 aircrafts starting from October 15, 2012.
 
Virgin Australia has also recently introduced new Airbus A330 aircrafts on the Perth-Melbourne route.

Qantas Airways currently has several Airbus A330 models in different configurations ranging from 235 to 297 seats, while Virgin Australia has Airbus A330 aircrafts with 279 seats.
