Qantas Airways to increase capacity on flights between Melbourne and Tasmania

There will be an increase in Qantas Airways flights capacity on flights between Melbourne and Tasmania.

Qantas Airways recently announced it will be adding more than 1,700 seats every week on its flights services between Tasmania and Melbourne starting from October 29, 2012.

Lyell Strambi, Chief Executive Officer of Qantas Airways, said that the additional capacity on flights between the two cities would provide more travel options to the passengers and offer greater convenience.

Qantas Airways also disclosed that the existing daily Boeing 737 services being operated twice daily between Melbourne and Hobart is likely to be increase with the introduction of Q400 aircraft.

Strambi said that the airline will be increasing the flights services between Melbourne and Hobart to three times every day from the existing twice daily service.

He also said that Hobart, Devonport and Launceston will see additional and upgraded flights services to/from Melbourne in the next few months, to be operated by QantasLink Q400 aircraft.
