Singapore Airlines starting daily flights to Yangon in October
Singapore Airlines recently announced it will begin daily flights services between Singapore and Myanmar in October this year.
The airline has decided to begin daily Singapore Airlines flights between the two countries in order to meet the growing demand by leisure and business travelers.
The move by Singapore Airlines has come at a time when the once-isolated Myanmar is opening up to the world after nearly half a century of military rule ended last year and political reforms launched.
Mak Swee Wah, Executive Vice President of Singapore Airlines, said that the airline is looking forward to begin flights services to Myanmar for the first time as the demand for both leisure and business travel is growing strong by the day.
The airline stated that Singapore Airlines flights tickets would be available to the customers as the flights services are due to begin from October 28, 2012. Singapore Airlines will initially operate seven flights out the 16 flights being operated every week by its regional wing SilkAir.
