Spirit the low cost airline, offering service to a number of cities in the United States does not take offense of the word Cheap. For the staff at the airline cheap is more than just a word. It is the business philosophy around which the carrier operates.

Ben Baldanza, the Chief Executive of the airline has been instrumental in devising the business strategy of the airline, which now caters to a wide range of cities across the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. Its focus cities comprise Atlantic City, Chicago, Las Vegas, Detroit, Dallas/ Fort Worth and Fort Lauderdale.

The airline that offers and runs on the low-cost ideology charges its passengers $3 for water and $10 to print boarding passes. The airline has also discarded its toll-free telephonic service to reiterate its stand and stick to the business policy.

Pitched as the country’s cheapest airline, Spirit is doing everything in its capacity to cut costs to run operations smoothly. The carrier is credited with being the first to introduce a charge on carry-on bags. It also holds the unique the distinction of offering seats that are non-adjustable.

Baldanza doesn’t seem to budge at the customers’ complaints of providing little legroom. For him the customers should not book Spirit tickets and then complain through the journey. Amid protests and objections for the way Spirit functions, the airline is doing a great job in the domestic market.

The airline offers low fares and paves way for many customers to travel by air, which otherwise would be a distant dream for many.

In the first half of the current year, the airline reported 20 percent increase in its total passenger traffic.
