Turkish Airlines to continue using B777-300ER to Mumbai

Turkish Airline, the premier airline of Europe announced that it would continue to deploy the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to Mumbai. The airline had replaced this wide body plane to ply between Istanbul and Mumbai. The airline was forced to make amends owing to the rising passenger traffic on this popular route.

The airline had assigned the B777 aircraft on the route for a three months trial period. The airline is extremely happy with the overwhelming response. It is pleasant news for the passengers who can continue to book Turkish Airlines flights to India’s financial capital Mumbai from Istanbul. These planes will continue to serve passengers through March 31, 2014. Post that the airline is likely to review the response and decide on a future course of action accordingly.

The airline, which serves as the national flagship carrier of Turkey, offers flights to about 40 domestic and 198 international destinations. Its operations have spread to 104 countries across the globe. Its wide connectivity puts it on number one position as the fourth largest airline in terms of destinations served.

Atatürk International Airport is the carrier’s primary hub. It also has secondary hubs located at Esenboga International Airport, Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, and Adnan Menderes Airport. At present, it boasts of a strong fleet consisting of 222 commercial carriers and 11 cargo aircrafts. It uses planes from both Airbus as well as Boeing.

The airline is popular amongst travelers in Europe and beyond. It was indeed voted as the Best Airline of Europe earlier this year.
