British Airways new Galleries Lounge opens at Newark airport

British Airways recently announced the opening of its brand new Galleries Lounge at Newark airport, to the west of New York.

The Newark airport has increasingly become a main international hub since the recently merged United/Continental created the world’s largest airline.

The newly-opened Galleries Lounge is twice the size of the previous lounge. Right by the airline’s new cluster of gates (B50-58), the new lounge is better and much more conveniently located.

British Airways in a statement said that the lounge is split into separate dining areas for the First Class and Business Class.

The passengers booking first class flights are offered serviced private dining booths in the lounge. The passengers traveling in Business Class or Club World will be able to enjoy self-service at the lounge.

British Airways currently operates a Newark to Paris route on its fully owned luxury subsidiary, OpenSkies.

Ever since the British Airways acquired the French carrier L’Avion and named it OpenSkies, it has reconfigured the aircrafts in its fleet, and upgraded Biz Bed section featuring true lie-flat beds complete with duvets. A new Eco class has also been introduced.
