Delta Air Lines to offer first class on Wilmington-Atlanta route

Delta Air Lines recently announced it will be offering its passengers the option to book first class flights to Atlanta from Wilmington International Airport (ILM).

The airline in a statement said that it will be deploying a larger, dual-class aircraft to ILM’s flight schedule starting from September 6, 2012 and will be offering more seats in the first class.

The airline, however, said that it currently doesn’t have any plans to increase its flight frequencies on the Atlanta route.

Julie Wilsey, Deputy Director of Wilmington International Airport, said that DC-9 aircrafts will be deployed on the ILM-Atlanta route. The aircraft will have the capacity to carry 125 passengers. Apart from this, other regional jets with capacity for carrying either 65 or 76 passengers will also operate on this route.

Wilsey said that the larger jets will be equipped with both first class and coach seating. The option to fly first class on ILM-Atlanta route has come as welcome news to frequent travelers, she said.
