Delta Air Lines to restrict traveling with pets

Passengers booking Delta Air Lines air tickets and traveling along with their pets will now have to face restrictions being placed by the airline. 
Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines recently announced it has brought some change in its policies regarding travel with pets on board its flights.

The airline in a statement said that it has to take some hard decisions after pet lovers’ outcry in the wake of air travel-related pet deaths.
The change in airline’s policies will make it more costly, complicated and difficult to fly along with the pets, whether it’s for a family vacation or long-haul flights.

Delta Air Lines stated that it has now stopped carrying pets as checked baggage or cargo on any of its Boeing 767 flights since June this year. The airline presently has nearly 81 Boeing 767s among its fleet of above 800 aircrafts.

Earlier, in February this year the airline had placed ban on carrying pets in business class on international routes. The airline put the ban after the installation of lie-flat seats in business class cabins, which severely restricted the space for pet carriers under the seats.
