Hainan Airlines launching nonstop flights between Chicago and Beijing next year
Hainan Airlines recently announced it will begin its new nonstop flights services between Chicago and Beijing from next year.
China-based Hainan Airlines in a statement disclosed that it has been granted federal regulatory approval to begin flights services between the two cities.
The airline was granted approval by Chicago Department of Aviation and the City of Chicago allowing it to launch nonstop flights between Beijing Capital International Airport and Chicago O’Hare international Airport.
Earlier this year, Hainan Airlines had applied with the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin new flights on Chicago-Beijing route to be operated four times every week starting in the second quarter of 2013.
Hainan Airlines will be the only mainland Chinese carrier to start flights services at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The new flights to Beijing are likely to be operated from International Terminal 5 at Chicago O'Hare.
Currently, Hainan Airlines operates above 2,800 weekly flights to various Chinese cities as well as international destinations in Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.
