Japan Airlines renews Wine and Champagne selection on international flights

Japan Airlines recently started offering a renewed wine and champagne selection list to first class passengers on board its international flights.
The airline made a new line-up available in first class flights starting from January 11, 2012 onwards. However, the new service will be fully rolled out in mid-February this year.
Japan Airlines undertook a painstaking task to finally shortlist 19 types of wine, including New World wines, to be catered to the passengers in first class that would complement and enhance the flavors of the meals served onboard.
The airline initially selected 600 labels, and later on shortlisted 90 labels. However, from among the 90 shortlisted labels only 19 types of wine were finally selected.
Japan Airlines will become the only airline to offer its customers the highly-esteemed Champagne Salon 1999 onboard first class. Besides, the passengers can also choose to savor the prestigious Champagne Dom Perignon Vintage 2003.
The airline will also serve ‘Kusuda Wines Martinborough Syrah’, created by acclaimed overseas Japanese winemaker Hiroyuki Kusuda, onboard flights to Europe. However, on flights to Jakarta and US the passengers will be served ‘Rindo’, created by Japanese-owned California winery Kenzo Tsujimoto’s Kenzo Estate.
