Japan Airlines to offer one hour free Wi-Fi service in First Class

Japan Airlines recently announced it will be introducing Wi-Fi on some of its select international flights starting this summer.

The airline in a statement said that the Wi-Fi service called “JAL SKY” will be installed on its entire Boeing 777-300ER fleet.

Japan Airlines disclosed that it will be installing Wi-Fi service on select international flights, including New York JFK, Chicago, Jakarta, Los Angeles, Paris, London and Frankfurt.

According to the airline, Wi-Fi service will be available on Tokyo-New York JFK flight on alternate days starting from July 15, 2012. However, from early August the service will be provided daily on this route.

The Wi-Fi service will be installed on Chicago, Los Angeles and Jakarta routes at the end of October this year. However, on routes between Tokyo and Frankfurt, London and Paris, the Wi-Fi service is likely to be installed by the spring of 2013.

The airline will be offering in-flight Wi-Fi service at $11.95 for one hour and $21.95 for 24 hours. The passengers traveling from July 15 through September 30, 2012 will be offered one hour free of charge Wi-Fi service onboard their first class flights as well as those in business class.
