KLM soon to acquire Havana route

KLM recently announced to take over the flight operations of Martinair that fly between Amsterdam and Havana this winter. Martinair, which currently operates flights over Cancun and Havana route for KLM, is planning to stop its services by the end of this year.
Boeing 767-300 aircraft, configured with economy and Comfort Class seating, is used to serve over the Cancun and Havana route and also operates six flights a week to Cuba.
Martinair is planning to stop the flight services to Havana by the end of October, after which KLM will start its flight operations. KLM will offer thrice a week flight service which will be served by MD11 aircraft that will be configured for 261 economy and 24 World Business Class seats.
The KLM flight service that will commence from 31st October 2011 will depart from Amsterdam on Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays at 01.51 pm and will arrive in Havana at 05.45 pm. The round trip flight will depart from Cuba at 07.45 pm and will arrive in Amsterdam at 10.45 am the next day.
Martinair will discontinue its air service by the end of this year and will concentrate fully on the air freight activities.
