Mobile Portal facility launched by Finnair

To further facilitate its passengers with online bookings, Finnair recently launched a comprehensive range of services via a new mobile web portal that will include online check-in and the ability to edit bookings. The new application works through a browser thus making it compatible with a greater variety of devices. The new portal could be accessed with mobiles and other working internet connections. The new portal will help the users through menu option such as flight information and bookings, check-in, and others. The users will be able to view all this on a Smartphone or other internet ready mobile devices. The portal services that will commence from May 2011 will consist of information sections for the business travelers and members of the Finnair Plus frequent flyer program, and a 50 destination guide that will include Asian destinations such as Seoul, Hong Kong, Delhi and Singapore. The use of new portal onboard will be chargeable and the billing will be done according to the user’s tariff and roaming fees. The new service will be available in 36 countries and in 14 languages.
