Norwegian increases capacity between UK and Spain
Norwegian is offering multiple travel options to those buying plane tickets for travel between the UK and Spanish destinations. Norwegian has recently opened a new hub in Tenerife. The new base at Tenerife South Airport will be the airline’s fourth hub in Spain. The opening of the new base has resulted in the capacity increase with more flights to be now served to the UK and two new German routes.
Norwegian said that it will now start operating thrice weekly flights between London Gatwick and Malaga. The new service became operational from October 31, 2013 and will continue until February 13, 2014. The airline plans to transform this to a daily service effective from February 14, 2014.
The airline further stated that it will also start flying between LGW and Tenerife four times every week. The new service is already operational from October 31, 2013 and will continue until January 30, 2014. The airline will be converting this to a daily service starting from February 1, 2014. Apart from Tenerife South Airport, Norwegian’s other three hubs is Spain includes Alicante, Malaga and Las Palmas. According to the airline, the two new German routes will be Tenerife-Berlin and Gran Canaria-Berlin. The flights on these two routes will start in February next year.
