Qantas Airways recently announced that it will be offering iPads to its customers booking business class tickets for inflight entertainment when traveling on its Boeing 767 aircrafts. The airline will also provide iPad devices to passengers traveling in Economy Class.
The airline decided to provide iPads to its customers traveling in both the classes for inflight entertainment after successfully completing the trial of its new in-air streaming technology. The iPads will be provided on all the Boeing 767 aircrafts of the airline.
Passengers taking business class flights as well as those traveling in Economy Class of Qantas Airways would get an opportunity to access above 200 hours of entertainment programs on their iPads.
The airline in a statement said that the first aircraft with the newly installed technology called ‘QStreaming’ would be rolled out in the fourth quarter of 2012.
The airline stated that the iPads with the new technology can be accessed free-of-charge and will be available mostly on flights to Perth as well as those on domestic east coast routes within Australia.
