Scandinavian Airlines expanding flights network to U.S.
Scandinavian Airlines recently announced it will be expanding its flights network to the United States. The airline is planning to extend its U.S. operations by offering additional nine weekly flights services.
The airline in a statement said it will be launching new flights between Copenhagen and San Francisco, to be operated six times every week. The airline is due to start the additional service from April 2013.
Passengers booking Scandinavian Airlines air tickets to New York can look forward to a new evening departure with three flights every week.
Scandinavian Airlines is presently operating nonstop flights services to New York from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. Apart from this, the airline is also operating flights to Chicago from Stockholm and Copenhagen. The airline is serving Washington D.C. from Copenhagen as well.
Rickard Gustafson, CEO of SAS Group, said that Scandinavian Airlines is constantly looking to cater to those markets which are in great demand from Nordic travelers. He said that the market situation in North America is currently favorable, with strong demands emanating from US West Coast and San Francisco.
